Hydrocortisone is a mild steroid (adrenal cortex hormone) that reduces the inflammation associated with cold sores.What is this medicine used forThis medicine is used to treat the early signs and symptoms (e.g.tingling, itching or redness) of cold sores on the lips and the skin around the lips to reduce the chancereduce the development of a cold sore into an ulcer in adults and adolescents (12 years and older)parent).Even if your cold sore develops into a sore, this product will shorten the healing process by about half a day to a day compared to the cream without the active ingredients. Cold sores are caused by a virus called herpes simplex. The virus causes blisters and sores primarily on the lips, but sometimes also on other parts of the face. Cold sores can develop when the body's immune system is weakened, for example, after a cold or other infection. Stress, bright sunlight, low temperatures, or menstruation can also trigger cold sores.Composition of Zovirax Duo Crème : Active ingredient: One gram of cream contains 50 mg aciclovir and 10 mg hydrocortisone. Other ingredients: liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, isopropyl myristate, sodium laurilsulfate, cetostearyl alcohol, white soft paraffin, poloxamer 188, citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, and purified water.Usage of Zovirax Duo Crème : Adults and children over 12 years oldApply the cream five times a day for 5 days (i.e. approximately every 3-4 hours during the day).It is recommended to start treatment as soon as possible after the first signs or symptoms appear.(e.g. tingling, itching or redness) to start.Do not use the product for more than 5 days.
